Active Shooter Training Video with Center for Public Safety Innovation
Jim would like to thank the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Generations Christian Church, the many volunteers and his safety team at GCC for working with the Center for Public Safety Innovation in creating this video October 16, 2015 which will be part of a larger training video used by churches and law enforcement around the country to better prepare churches against the threats they face.
Florida Church Protection Act Petition:
Not only do churches need the ability to put a safety team in place, they need to know that the church is protected against a lawsuit in the event of an active shooter that is engaged by a safety team member in the church.
We have brought this up in many of our meetings, and now is the time to take action.
We have drafted a summary white paper that will continue to evolve as to why the church needs Florida Church Protection Act using George Zimmerman's case as the example and solutions on how to implement such a piece of legislation. This petition will show lawmakers the need for such legislation so churches can engage an active shooter without fear of being sued - a "Stand Your Ground" for churches that choose to defend themselves through their trained safety team members.
Please click the link to review and if you agree, please sign the petition. Please note if you are a pastor before your church name so we have that documented when moving forward. Please share with your safety teams, church leaders, staff and volunteers.
If you have additional suggestions, please let me know. Together, we will tackle this.

Message from Jim:
Houses of worship across the United States that would have never thought about putting together a security team are now consulting with their elders, deacons and congregations about the rise of violence in worship centers. Churches, large and small are witnessing acts of violence against its members, facilities and its faith like never before.
Any House of Worship can put together a safety team. Able body members with law enforcement or military experience or the heart to make sure the congregation is safe will do for watching over the flock protecting them from those that pose a threat to their worship center.
What do you do if evil comes into your House of Worship? Do your volunteers know what to do when these situations arise?
Here are some things to consider:
We are here to analyze, educate and help you build a plan to ensure the safety of your House of Worship.
