He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and received a BS degree from LSU in 1978 and an MA from the University of Texas in 1981. Fr. Reid went to seminary in the summer of 1989 and graduated from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in May, 1992. Thereafter, he has served churches in Shreveport, Louisiana, Bennettsville, South Carolina, and Memphis, Tennessee. He completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida in December, 2010. Fr. Reid met his wife Deanie at the Catholic Student Center at the University of Texas at Austin and married June 28, 1980. They have a daughter Amy and a son David. Fr. Reid worked for his father in Lafayette, Louisiana as a geologist in the oil business from June, 1980 - June, 1989. Deanie graduated with honors from the University of South Louisiana in 1982. Fr. Reid and Deanie were raised in the Roman Catholic Church and began attending an Episcopal church in Lafayette, Louisiana in August, 1984. They were received into the Church the following year. Deanie is a full-time teacher in the Polk County School system. Fr. He supervises an excellent staff that loves and serves the people of All Saints' faithfully. Fr. Reid is the Chaplain of the All Saints’ Doulos Chapter of the Order of St. Luke and loves to preach and teach the Bible. He particularly loves the Wednesday Morning Bible Study, Men's Friday Morning Bible Study, and Wednesday Night Parish Academy. Additionally, he enjoys the Parent Class which meets twice a week. Fr. Reid's hobbies include reading, running, football, Shakespeare, and movies. He also loves working in the yard and following the Dallas Cowboys football team, which he has enjoyed since 1965. I was raised in Tampa, a 1983 Chamberlain HS graduate, and attended the University of Alabama on both an academic and athletic scholarship but growing up I was not the kid most likely to excel in sports. That all changed that day in my sophomore year of high school when I heard the words “cross country is the sport for the kid that can’t do anything else...”. That was me and by my senior year I was an all-state runner, and running had defined who I was, but little did I know I was running from the one true Source of significance. A four-minute mile and countless races won wasn’t enough to divert me from the self-destructive path I chose to take and stay on until 2003, where that road dead ended, and the path of Light began for me. I experienced first hand what being a high school and collegiate student/athlete stumbling around in the darkness of the world could lead to, and I also learned, much later in life, the
freedom that walking with Christ brings. FCA is a bridge on which our students can walk into that freedom and it’s a ministry to and through the coaches. My goal for FCA is that one day the words may be heard” Jesus Christ is the answer for the kid who can’t find it in anything else!” For more about our FCA go to http://www.fcatampabay.org |

Trinity Security Allies provides education and safety training to houses of worship, faith-based schools and non-profits who can not afford the high cost of a security consulting firm. Trinity Security Allies believes that every organization should have access to safety education and training regardless of their ability to pay. Imagine the lives that could be saved in the event of a tragic situation if safety education and training had been provided to all those involved. With domestic violence and mental health issues on the rise, it is best to have a plan in place, and not need it, to ensure the safety of those frequenting your house of worship or non-profit.
Born and raised in Glen Rose, Texas Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and skill sets to the church safety and security industry, founding Trinity Security Allies in 2015 based on the needs of community churches. At age 18, Jim joined the Air Force Reserves later moving to the Norfolk Police Department at age 21. There he spent the next 26 years serving in a multitude of capacities including Vice and Narcotics Investigator, Crisis Negotiation Trainer and Supervisor, Y2K compliant Project Manager and working his last two years as a Patrol Sergeant. After leaving the Norfolk Police Department in 2001, Jim spent time doing worldwide security options analysis and executive protection at the World Bank in Washington D.C. In late 2002, Jim brought his family to Florida where he spent the next four years working with a public safety software company which eventually led him back as a detective for the Belleair Police Department. Jim began working part time with the Belleair Police Department at the start of the ministry and left Belleair Police Department in January 2017. Jim recently served as an auxiliary police officer with the Port Richey Police Department and is currently an adjunct instructor for St. Pete College – instructing legal, crime scene to courtroom classes and lead firearms instructor. Jim started working with churches in 2006 educating them on how to not be a soft target and is currently the safety consultant for Generations Christian Church in Trinity, FL. Jim currently holds the position of Executive Director of Trinity Security Allies, working with churches across the United States in training them on how to protect their congregation. In 1970, when Jim was just age 16, Jim’s father stepped outside their church and killed the deacon that was helping his family because of domestic issues they were having; bringing the tragedy that happened those many years ago full circle in protecting our houses of worship. |
